I am a first time mom and would like
doula support.
Goal 2: Enable community-based support to pregnant and postpartum women through specially-trained doulas
What is a doula?
Doulas provide continuous physical and emotional labor support, information and advocate on behalf of families.
Benefits of Doula Care
Authors of a recent Cochrane review of 26 studies with data from 17 countries and more than 15,000 women found that continuous support during labor may improve outcomes for women and infants as measured by:
More spontaneous vaginal births
More positive feelings about childbirth
Less time in labor
Fewer cesarean births
Less use of any analgesia
Better five-minute Apgar scores
